Effective 2026-08-29. Too Many Comics is published by BigBrainCorp LLC. The app itself is licensed under Apple's standard App Store license; these terms cover the parts we operate: the AI analysis service and credits.

The short version

Too Many Comics is a tool for cataloging, grading, and selling comic books and similar collectibles. Your collection data is yours and stays on your phone. AI grades and price estimates are informed opinions, not appraisals. Credits are simple, and purchases run through Apple. And the AI features exist to look at comics, so that is what you agree to point them at.

Estimates are estimates

AI grades and price estimates are informational opinions, produced from your photographs and historical market data. They are not appraisals, not offers to buy, and not a substitute for professional grading or for your own judgment. Markets move, and a model cannot see what it was not shown: a grade never claims more certainty than your photos support, and every price estimate carries the date it was made. Decisions to buy, sell, price, insure, or submit a book for professional grading are yours alone, and BigBrainCorp is not a party to your deals.

Credits

The app is free, and cataloging is free. The AI features (recognition, grading, pricing, on-demand news sweeps) spend credits.

• Purchased credits never expire.
• The weekly free allowance resets each week and does not carry over.
• Credits belong to the installation that earned or bought them. They are not transferable and have no cash value.
• Purchases, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's terms. We never see your payment details.
• What an operation costs in credits can change as models and features do; the app shows the cost before you spend.

Fair-use limits apply: the service rate-limits each device so that no single installation can run away with it.

Purpose of the AI features

When you request an analysis, your photograph is processed by an AI service (Azure OpenAI, operated by Microsoft; our privacy policy describes exactly what is sent and how it is handled). This pipeline exists solely to identify, grade, and catalog comic books and similar collectibles.

What is allowed

Comic and collectible imagery can include horror themes, crime covers, underground comix, and other lurid or mature artistic styles. These are legitimate collectibles, and photographing them for cataloging is normal, intended use, full stop.

What is prohibited

You agree not to upload any material outside that scope, including:

• photographs that are not of collectibles,
• any unlawful content, and
• any sexual content involving minors, whether real, drawn, or simulated.

The AI service automatically refuses such material. We record only the number of refusals per installation (never the content itself), and repeated refusals may result in suspension of access to the AI features. Your inventory remains fully functional either way: it is stored on your device and does not depend on our servers.

Your collection is yours

Everything you catalog belongs to you and lives on your device. We hold no copy. That cuts both ways: keeping backups is your responsibility, and the app's backup and export features exist so you always can. What little does reach our servers, and why, is described in the privacy policy.

The service

We work to keep the AI service fast, accurate, and available, and we keep improving it, which means models, features, and results will change over time. The service is provided as is, without warranties, and our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before a claim. We can suspend a device's access to the AI features for abuse of these terms. When we update these terms, the effective date above changes, and continued use of the AI features after a change means the updated terms apply.
